To improve the lives of people with ALK+ lung cancer
Living with ALK+ lung cancer can be physically, emotionally, and financially challenging. Sweat for Breath Foundation aims to improve the lives of these patients not just through cutting-edge research, but also through patient support.

Hardship Assistance Grant

 

Launched in partnership with ALK Positive, Inc., our Hardship Assistance Grants are designed to help reduce the financial hardship caused by an ALK+ lung cancer diagnosis. Each quarter, the Foundation will provide multiple grants, each up to $500, to ALK+ lung cancer patients to help reduce the barriers to getting a second opinion or participating in a clinical trial by reimbursing for Eligible Expenses. Application forms will be due 15 days after the end of each quarter as follows:

  • April 15 for expenses incurred January 1 – March 31
  • July 15 for expenses incurred April 1 – June 30
  • October 15 for expenses incurred July 1 – September 30
  • January 15 for expenses incurred October 1 – December 31

ALK Positive, Inc. Online Support Group

 

As an ALK+ lung cancer patient himself, David and his wife Lisa have found tremendous value in the ALK+ Online Support Group. This support group is hosted by ALK Positive, Inc., a patient-driven community dedicated to supporting, empathizing with, and funding research that shapes a better future for ALK+ cancer patients. Created as a private Facebook Page, this online support group connects a community of more than 3,500 patients and care partners worldwide.

 

ALK Positive, Inc. “Explore with Writing” Group

 

ALK Positive, Inc.’s Healing Arts provide a supportive space for patients and care partners to connect, heal, and grow through creative and therapeutic practices. Finding writing a critical outlet for processing his own diagnosis and cancer journey, David leads ALK Positive’s “Explore with Writing” bi-monthly sessions.
